Taunton 15 : Tavistock 34
The new look under 15’s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a well deserved win away at Taunton. After a slow start, conceding the opening try, Tavistock woke up and took the lead with two fine tries from stand in skipper McCall, making the score 12-5. McCall continued to find holes in the opposition defence and was unlucky not to have a hat-trick of scores within 10 minutes, being denied her final try. The game was played at a good tempo with much of the ball being recycled quickly from good rucking by Tidball and Upcott. Tavistock also welcomed debutants Credicott and Rundle to the field both playing well in their first games. At half time Tavistock were leading but not comfortably, with the deficit at only 2 points. This was short lived however when Midson-Holmes and Dawe added to the score sheet from 20 metres out. Tavistock running home easy victors in the end. Player of the match was awarded to Bull for her vast improvement in defence, making countless tackles, leading to valuable turnovers.
