Tavistock 20 : North Dorset/Plymouth Albion 5
Tavistock recorded another win after a fine display of ball retention
against a combined Albion and Dorset team! Tavistock started slowly
with communication being non-existent, despite this the majority of
play was held in the Dorset half; with much of the ball being mauled
back and forth the pitch, it did'nt take long before Nielson found some
space out wide to gallop home under the sticks. This score raised
Tavistock's tempo and communication vastly improved, with good
organisation in defence being led by Neave and Walke communicating
well. This added pressure saw countless turnovers which led to a
further two scores in quick succession after good strong runs by Scorer
and Abel. Half time score 15-5. The second half saw a closer affair,
but with out doubt some of the best rugby played by the young Tavistock
team; a series of try line defence saw turnover ball retained through
22 phases up the pitch, with all 15 players strongly involved,
unfortuantly the ball was knocked on over the line, but the ability to
string together such mature rugby is a huge boost for Tavistock whole
have only recorded one loss all season! Nielson crossed for her brace
just before the final whistle. Final score 20 - 5.
