Launceston 20 : Tavistock 15
Launceston 5 : Tavistock 40
Tavistock U9s 15 pts (second game 40pts)
Launceston U9s 20 pts (second game 5pts)
The Tavistock U9s showed a massive improvement this week against
Launceston. Although they just lost the first game by a single try, a
large part of the game was spent in the Launceston half. Tom Pearson,
Jack Smyly and Lachlan Fulton were the try scorers but the whole team
were passing well and running well with the ball. The team showed some
good tackling skills with John Lord, Ollie Noy Scott, Luke Lewandowski,
Morgan Turnock and Jason Blake all playing their part. Joe Burbageās
strength allowed him to power through the opposition, nearly breaking
through on a number of occasions. The second game allowed Tavistock to
stretch their legs and build their confidence as they ran in eight
tries to a single try by Launceston. Freddie Grier Rees and Jude White
both scored a number of times using their speed and skill. Cian Benny
demonstrated how to score a quick try from a scrum close to the
Launceston line and Seamus Kelleher had great courage coming back onto
the field after injury to continue to help his team mates. A great
overall team effort. Man of the match was Cian Benny.
