Tavistock 5 : Plymstock 20
The Tavistock U9s met a formidiable Plystock team in their first game
of the season. The first half saw the opposition slowly move ahead with
3 good tries. However, there was constant pressure from Tavistock with
Jude White just missing out on a try in the corner. Eventually
Tavistock were rewarded for the time spent in Plymstock's half. After
great pressure from the John Lord, Ollie Noy Scott, Luke Lewandowski
and Freddie Grier Rees, Tom Pearson eventually broke through with the
try. The second half score was very close with both teams having
chances. Cian Benny, Seamus Kelleher, Morgan Turnock and Zac Clifford
Flower all provided good defence with Plymstock only making one more
try in the whole 15 minute half. Jack Smyly made some fantastic runs
deep into the Plymstock half and Tavistock again, can extremely close
scoring at the end of the half. The whole team were fearless in their
approach to tackling and improvement in their technique will come in
over the following weeks. Both Jason Blake and Jude White put some
impressive tackles in as did the man of the match Lachlan Fulton.
